The Moon Wax

It's so much better on holiday...

Friday was all about the silly. Amy and I accompanied by a new person named Cameron went to the Abbey for a small helping of Armondo's birthday party, it was nice and we enjoyed it, even though in our state the Abbey was just a bit much.
Later the evening finds us at yet another kick back at Devin & Dylans, we had fun leaving at some god awful early hour only to go home and generally have trouble sleeping.
On the morning of Saturday, after fitful rest on the couch we journeyed over to Noah's Bagels for some breakfast action. Nice and warm as per usual. Back home again we found ourselves in bed looking through photo albums for several hours, always strange to see old lives since lost.
Deciding to spoil ourselves for dinner we aimed ourselves on a date to "i cugini" on Ocean Blvd. in Santa Monica. It was nice, we were awarded the corner table on the patio overlooking the ocean, or at least the dark void that hides the water. We left feeling a rush, happy to have had a very thorough waitress who suggested the muscles and the lasagna, both the best I have ever had.
Sunday Morning we ventured to Wattles Garden Park, to be alone in that beautiful place in the hazy Los Angeles morning is about as much wonderful as I could ever ask for. We sat there digging the world and knocking around some silly ideas.
Finally the silliest idea took hold, Amy and I decided to hit the Hollywood Wax museum. We drove down Hollywood Blvd. To check out the hours, the place was shuttered until 10 giving us some time to kill. We ventured into the Hollywood Farmers Market on Ivar, which is possibly the best Farmer's Market in L.A., featuring live music at many locations. We remembered with a giggle that we had been there, a year or two in the past with Earl and Carrie, walking tall and proud out of the dark nasty of the Spotlight club and into the morning sun, a complete melding of opposites, the same exhilaration of stranger in a strange land feelings.
Finally the Museum opens, and Amy and I are there and ready. It is odd and Hilarious. We tour the entire thing, hardly anything appears real or even made of wax. Our cell phone camera's do not really do the trick, and though we've had an adventure we don't quite feel we have our money's worth, we then find that our tickets are in fact good for the entire day.
A quick dash to Devin and Dylan's and we are now in possession of a better camera. We trek down the block to our apartment and rummage through the clothes and make up for a little bit of flair, we find it, armed and ready we head back to the museum. Our photo shoot lasted for several hours, and the pictures that came out were nothing but worth it. Good Times.
We journey then to the fault line for bear beer bust, leaving there to stand in line at the standard downtown... Not much worth it. We then find ourselves buried in blue cheese fries and Pabst blue ribbon and pete's, how nice to be back at a favorite haunt.
