2 years old

Oh me! how could I forgett to mention that my blog turned 2 years old!

Someone Painted "April Fools" in Big Black Letters on a "Dead End" Sign

My poor little blog, forgotten and neglected. I've been neglecting many things lately I'm afraid. I lost my cell phone for a few hot weeks, which offered a nice little rest. I had to get a passport which felt nice but expensive. I've been really sleeping too litte.

Since I last checked in SG played in Albuquerque, at gay pride, then the next day at Los Angeles gay pride, with an all night drive in between.

I've been thinking about all kinds of different things, they are all pretty exciting to me.

I'm working on getting in a better mood than I have been, it appears to be working.

I really did mean for this entry to be a little more content oriented but alas it's not in me. I'm going to swim in the Internet.

Happy Birthday Bob

Hey Bob,
Thanks for checking in on Amy from time to time. I imagine your extremely proud that she's got such a great set of pipes. Did you ever imgaine? I'll have one for you tomorrow, and then I'll have one for her. Hope you can make it.
Brandon
P.S.
We never met, You probably wouldn't have liked me at first, but then you didn't like Culture Club until the end.

It grows on you.

Whisky & Beer

Wednesday night we played the Whisky A GoGo for the first time. I remember reading about it in a book about the Doors when I was just some young kid from Kansas. I always hoped I'd get the chance to play there. Now I have.
I wish the Whisky could have managed to stay so cool through the ages, but sadly it has not. I had all but gotten over my urge to play there when this show came up. Still, my notes have now bounced off the same walls as Hendrix and Jim's. Each Beatle even, although only separate. Historically I got a bang out of the fact, presently I wish they would concentrate on making music mean something again, instead of on making money off musicians and their High School friends from the valley.

Chicken Boy & Elvis' Eight Ball

Monday was fun, Marc, Amy and I met up with a group of fine folks from findadeath.com in order to view a seldom remembered piece of LA history, the Chicken Boy.
Chicken Boy was a large Fiberglas statue which sat high above a restaurant downtown, which was also named Chickenboy. I'll not go into extreme detail when I can link you to his website, or that of his mothers.
http://www.chickenboy.com

We heard a nice oral history of how the statue came to be and how it came down, and the struggle to get it back up (none of that is supposed to be punny). We also got to try on a human size version of the head!!

After the Chickenboy the group headed downtown to eat at a place called Cliftons. I can't even begin to explain clifton's cafeteria. I won't, if you have the chance just go. 648 S. Broadway in downtown, L.A.

The rest of the day was just good fun, we kicked it at scotts house and later at new friend Darrell's. At Darrell's I got to snap this picture, that sir, was Elvis' Eight Ball...
